EVERYONE registered will be in the show. Auditions are to determine who will perform specific roles.

Online registration begins Monday, May 5th at 8 pm and closes on Tuesday, May 13th at 8 pm on our website at www.edmt.info.

Please bring the registration confirmation sheet, medical release form, behavior contract and conflict calendar with you on audition day. Those who didn't have an opportunity to register online before the deadline may complete registration forms at EDMT on audition day if space allows

Auditions will be Saturday, May 17, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at the EDMT Rehearsal Facility at 5011 Golden Foothill Pkwy, Suite #4, in the El Dorado Hills Business Park, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762

Registrants who elect not to audition still need to come to EDMT on Audition Day between 9 am and 1 pm to take their HEADSHOT PHOTO for the program.

On Line Registrants will receive an email confirmation notifying you of your audition number and time of audition the week prior to auditions. Those Not Registering Online, the Registration Table opens at 8:00 a.m. May 17th.

All Registration Forms must be downloaded and turned-in. If you wait and register on site, you will be given an audition number and time to return later that day, providing there is space left in the cast.

What to expect on Audition Day

When you arrive, you will be measured and have a photo taken for the program.

Auditionees will be seated by number in a row of 10 chairs in the audition room. When your number is called, you will come forward, introduce yourself and your song, and then sing up to one minute. You may sing acapella, with a background CD or tape (without vocals), or you may bring sheet music for the accompanist.

Next, auditionees will be taught a short dance routine in groups of 20, which they will then perform for the director and choreographer in smaller groups. (Some groups of auditionees will sing first and dance second, and others will dance first and sing second.)

Finally, the Artistic Staff will announce the audition numbers of those that are being called back. Those called back will proceed immediately to the "Callback Table" in the registration room to pick up any songs/scripts needed in preparation for the callback on Tuesday, May 20th.

Ensemble Registrants, those electing not to audition, still MUST come to EDMT on Audition Day to be measured and to have a head shot photo taken for the program.

Show Overview

"Thoroughly Modern Millie" is a high-spirited musical romp that has all of New York dancing the Charleston. Taking place in New York City in 1922, this show tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It's a New York full of intrigue and jazz – a time when women were entering the work force and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever.

Millie soon begins to take delight in the fashionable lifestyle of the day, but problems arise when she checks into a hotel owned by the leader of a white slavery ring to China.

Based on the popular movie, the stage version of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" includes wonderful songs and rousing dance numbers. Filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon-lady of a villainess audiences will love to hate, this show won six Tony Awards including Best Musical in 2002.
